Arson Watch Volunteers of all ages and background patrol the Santa Monica Mountains during periods of extreme fire weather conditions. They cover an area over 185 square miles, logging somewhere between 2,500 and 4,000 total volunteer hours. These ARSON WATCH Volunteers use their own vehicles (identified by magnetic ARSON WATCH signs) and two-way radios (donated by FAWDS, Inc.). They also provide information to the LA County Fire and Sheriff's Departments, California Highway Patrol, Topanga Emergency Operations Center and the Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness.

Las Virgenes Bookmobile The County of Los Angeles Public Library's Las Virgenes Bookmobile began serving the outlying areas of Calabasas, Hidden Hills, and Topanga Canyon on January 28, 1992. A "library on wheels," the Las Virgenes Bookmobile provides service to rural and remote areas. At 23 feet in length, the bookmobile can accommodate approximately 1,500 volumes of materials.

Topanga Animal Rescue Topanga Animal Rescue provides fostering and placement services for lost or abandoned domestic animals in the Topanga area. It provides immediate medical field triage and treatment for domestic and wild animals in Topanga as well as providing local sliding scale spay and neuter clinics for domestic animals in Topanga. It fosters community education programs concerning the responsibilities of domestic animal care and ownership. The organization also serves as a Los Angeles county center for the training of volunteers and veterinary professionals in emergency animal handling and restraint.

Topanga Canyon Docents Mission: Introduce Topanga State Park
The Topanga Canyon Docents started in 1974 by a group of friends and activists who wanted to share their love of nature and the Santa Monica Mountains. They lead public nature walks and give programs for school children. They are committed environmentalists who have created a popular and fun educational program. They are all volunteers, and they would love to have you join.

Topanga Enrichment Programs Topanga Enrichment Programs is a not-for-profit fund raising organization whose mission is plan, fund and operate supplemental programs to enrich the educational experience of the students at Topanga Charter Elementary School.
Among other things, contributions help fund the environmental science and physical education programs, library books, art supplies, technology support and teachers' aides.

Topanga State Park Topanga State Park features 36 miles of trails through open grassland, live oaks and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, and is considered the world’s largest wildland within the boundaries of a major city.
The park is bound on the south by Pacific Palisades and Brentwood, on the west by Topanga Canyon, and on the east by Rustic Canyon. Numerous geologic formations can be found in the park, including earthquake faults, marine fossils, volcanic intrusions, and a wide variety of sedimentary formations. Trippet Ranch is a great spot to begin your explorations.

Topanga Symphony The Topanga Symphony was founded in the summer of 1982 and has since presented a regular program of free concerts of high quality. It is truly a community orchestra, consisting of a mixture of amateurs, students and professional musicians. The audiences consist mainly of community residents, but every concert is attended by music lovers from all over the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Being community based, the orchestra provides a good opportunity for aspiring musicians to work with experienced professionals.
Since its inception, the Music Director and Conductor of the Topanga Symphony has been Jerome Kessler. He is also director of the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra and I Cellisti. A cellist and composer, he has appeared as conductor, soloist and in chamber music and orchestral events in all four corners of the United States, and in between.

Topanga Youth Services Topanga Youth Services provides creative enrichment and community service for youths from sixth grade through high-school for little or no charge. Participants can attend monthly events, community service outings, field trips or a more comprehensive series of activities.
